Well, thanks for the reply. I asked the question 4 months ago and since then I’ve done 5 or 6 carrot cakes according to this recepie. They were delicious so I can assure everyone Philly will do just fine (I used the low fat variety).
Yes pnadstoga, Philly not too dissimilar, and would probably work O.K. ( although not the version with garlic ! ), perhaps with the addition of a little iceing sugar or honey. Mascarpone or Ricotta would also probably work. I believe this vid is Delia Smith’s low fat version, that’s why she uses fromage frais, ( I made it, and it was fantastic. She has a website, ( easy to find via Google ), she has several different carrrot cake recipes on her site, one in particular looks very rich.
Yes, absolutely, I made this cake, also from one of Delia’s books, and it was stunningly good, great flavour & very moist. I gave some to someone who had tried every shop bought carrot cake available, and they said it was the best they had ever tasted. Delia Smith has been a U.K. television chef for many years, she’s famous and is known for the reliability of her recipes, she has a website of course. Pity there wasn’t some vid commentary or English captions, but great song & singer, I love it.
Nice work, we liked your video very much so we embedded it on ChefCommons w/ link back and reference to Youtube. (Let us know if you don’t wish for it to be featured)

Hi, is Fromage Frais anything like Philadelphia cheese? I wanna use it a substitute since I can’t find the first thing anywhere.
